• Daniel Shanley

    Dan Shanley became an attorney with the thought of helping working families, like those in his hometown of Lowell, Massachusetts. Dan succeeded. Decades ago, Dan began representing the Carpenters Union, and began a career of helping their hard-working members. Based on a simple philosophy of excelling in the law and service, and hard work, Dan and his firm help the Union and its members achieve the three most important things: good jobs, a fair wage, and secure benefits.

  • Desmond Lee

    Desmond joined the firm in 1993 and is licensed to practice law in California and Hawaii. He litigates matters in federal and state courts across the country and before administrative and arbitral tribunals involving traditional labor law, employee benefits, leaves of absences, employment discrimination, wrongful termination, wage and hour issues, and prevailing wage law.

    Desmond likes to watch sports in his free time, and is a lifelong fan of the Washington Commanders. He also rescues pugs and other dogs that need homes that their owners will not or cannot provide them.

  • Alice Chen

    Alice joined the firm in 2004. After litigating employment and labor law matters during her first seven years with the firm, Alice’s role has since shifted to real estate and other transactional work.

    Her real estate experience includes counseling and representing clients on the acquisition, disposition, leasing, and financing of commercial real estate assets. Alice also provides legal advice on investment transactions and drafts, reviews, and negotiates agreements relating to closed-end private equity, infrastructure, fixed income funds, open-end fund investments, REITs, agreements with investment managers and ERISA plan consultants, and contracts across various asset classes.

  • Yuliya Mirzoyan

    Yuliya has worked at the firm since 2008. She started out working on litigation matters, but over time has switched over to doing work for our client trust funds. Yuliya has enjoyed both and the latter has turned out a lot more interesting than she had expected. Yuliya received her JD from the University of Minnesota in 2006, from which she graduated Order of the Coif (top 10% of the class).In law school, she was a member of the Philip. C. Jessup International Law Moot Court Competition team. Yuliya’s BA is from UC Berkeley, where she majored in Sociology. Prior to joining the firm, she was a law clerk at a federal courthouse, where she researched legal matters related to habeas petitions.

  • Casey Jensen

    Casey M. Jensen has been employed by Shanley, APC as the managing attorney of the ERISA employee benefits collections department since February of 2018. He grew up in Colorado where he attended Colorado State University, graduating Cum Laude. He received a Juris Doctor degree in 2007 from the University of San Francisco School of Law. Casey was an editor of the Maritime Law Journal and a member of the Labor and Employment Law Students Association (LELSA) while at USF.

    Casey has extensive experience in all areas of consumer and ERISA legal collections and litigation in both Federal and California State Court, and is admitted to practice in all California State Courts and the United States District Courts for the Southern and Central Districts of California.

    Stephen Zeller, a seasoned attorney specializing in ERISA Trust benefit collections, boasts a strong legal background and exceptional dedication. Graduating Cum Laude from Thomas Jefferson School of Law, he ranked in the Top 15% of his class and served as Managing Editor of the Law Review, showcasing his commitment to legal scholarship.

    With internships at the San Diego Unified School District and the US Attorney's Office, Stephen gained valuable knowledge. Stephen previously held a senior litigation associate position, specializing in consumer collections and disputes.

    Since 2018, Stephen has played a crucial role at Shanley, APC, recovering over $3,000,000 in delinquent funds for Union Trust Funds in 2023 alone. His career is marked by academic excellence, diverse legal experience, and a proven track record of success in ERISA Trust benefit collections, demonstrating his passion for the law and commitment to clients.

  • Laura Bradley-Hufford

    Laura Bradley-Hufford is a dedicated labor attorney with 1.5 years of experience fighting for the rights of working people in the PNW. Laura earned her Juris Doctor from IIT Chicago-Kent College of Law. While at Chicago-Kent College of Law, Laura completed the Workplace litigation and Alternative Dispute Resolution Certificate Program

    Outside the office, Laura spends her time giving back to the community that she now calls home. She volunteers her time tutoring school aged students, as well as spreading her love of the retired racer to anyone willing to listen about these amazing dogs.

  • Samantha Pastor

    Samantha Pastor is a member of the litigation team at Shanley, APC, advising clients on labor and employment matters.

    Prior to joining Shanley, APC, Samantha was an Associate at AdvisorLaw, LLC, where she represented brokers and investment advisers in FINRA disputes and regulatory investigations. She is a graduate of Cardozo School of Law, where she served as Student Counsel in the Securities Arbitration Clinic as well as Business Editor of the International Comparative, Policy & Ethics Law Review.

    Samantha is licensed to practice law in Colorado and California.

    In her free time, Samantha enjoys yoga, hiking, concerts, and crossword puzzles.

  • Michael Iseri

    Michael Iseri is a dedicated attorney at Shanley, APC, with deep-seated expertise in motions, research, litigation, and integrating new technology and system flows. Michael earned his Juris Doctor from the University of California, Irvine School of Law, where he was a Research Editor of the UCI Law Review, a Clinic Researcher for the International Human Rights Clinic, and a Public Interest Fellow.

    Michael’s innovative approach combines traditional legal acumen with cutting-edge technological strategies. His involvement with the State Bar of California, the American Bar Association’s Litigation Section, and the California Lawyers Association showcases his legal leadership with numerous presentations and publications on A.I., legal cybersecurity, and diversity initiatives. His most notable roles include Committee of Bar Examiners for the State Bar of California as a California Supreme Court appointee [creating the California Bar Exam]; Privacy Law Group for the State Bar of California [creating the new data privacy license for California attorneys], Justice for All (formerly Access to Justice) for American Bar Association; Young Lawyers Leaders for American Bar Association’s Litigation Section; ABA Southern California Delegate & FEMA Coordinator; and Chair of Diversity & Board Officer for California Young Lawyers Association.

    Outside the office, Michael dedicates his time to programming “Esq. A.I.,” a fully voiced legal A.I. in 65 languages, and collecting high-end teas. He also has a personal passion for mentoring other individuals with disabilities, stemming from his experiences with an inability to speak until the third grade and surviving a high school shooting where he was shot in the head.

  • Chong Yu

    Chong Yu is a litigation attorney at Shanley, APC, advising clients on employment litigation and immigration matters. Prior to joining Shanley, APC, Chong practiced as an Immigration Attorney in New York, where she solved clients’ immigration problems. Chong is also a Chinese lawyer, focusing on civil and criminal litigation in China for a decade.

  • Brian Quinn

    Brian joined the firm in 1996. Since then, he has advised and counseled union clients on a wide range of issues including internal union governance and labor law. He has represented clients in all phases of litigation from discovery through trial/hearing in arbitration and proceedings before administrative agencies, and state and federal courts, including at the appellate level. Prior to joining the firm, he was a trial attorney with the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) for four years in New York City and Washington, D.C.

    He holds a B.A. degree in Economics from the SUNY College at Buffalo; J.D. degree from SUNY Buffalo Law School; and a Master of Laws (LL.M.) degree International Legal Studies from the Washington College of Law of American University in Washington, D.C. Brian worked his way through college as a member of the Teamsters union at United Parcel Service, and is committed to representing unions and working people.

    Mr. Quinn was previously selected to Super Lawyers for the Washington, D.C area, and is admitted to practice in Washington, D.C., New York, and Georgia.
